Frequently Asked Questions

Please review this page prior to signing up for groups. If you have a questions that is not answered here, you may contact us directly at scgroups@trumangroup.com

Signing Up

How do I sign up? Click "Register Here" in the navigation menu at the top of this page. The sign up period will be open in early fall. Additional details will be provided closer to the sign up period.

Will my group time change? If your country observes Daylight Saving Time (DST), your meeting time will shift by one hour after the time change. If your country does not observe DST, your group time will remain the same throughout the school year. If your time changes, please plan accordingly when you sign up. We cannot accommodate requests for group assignment changes that result from the time change.

When do groups start meeting? Information about when your group will start meeting will be delivered after your group participation is confirmed and payment is received. Groups will continue to meet every other week through the end of the school year.

What is my time zone? Timeanddate.com can help with identifying your timezone. When you sign up for a group, the registration page will automatically detect your time zone based on your location, and will list the available time slots in your time zone. Please verify the detected time zone via the dropdown menu under the calendar.

I missed the registration window. Can I still sign up? Please send an inquiry to scgroups@trumangroup.com to be added to the waitlist.

Eligibility

How do I know if I am eligible to participate? Groups are open to international school counselors.

Can I join if I'm not a school counselor? Participation is limited to school counselors and school psychologists.

Group Assignment

When will I have my group time assignment? More information about group times will be sent out in the fall. Your group leader will contact you by email at the address you listed while signing up.

Who will be in my group? Each group will be comprised of approximately 6-8 international school counselors from the international school community.

Can I request to not be put in a group with other counselors from my school? We will attempt to accommodate requests. Please leave a note in the comments section when you sign up.

I was waitlisted. What now? If you're not assigned to one of the initial 144 funded seats, you’ll be placed on a waitlist. From there, you’ll have a few options: Purchase a seat: You can choose to secure your spot in a group for $600. We offer need-based financial aid if cost is a barrier. Wait it out: You can remain on the waitlist in case a funded seat opens up (though we expect that to be unlikely). Check with your school or region: Your institution or regional association may be sponsoring a dedicated group. If so, you may be offered a seat through that group. Withdraw from the waitlist: If you no longer wish to participate, just let us know and we’ll remove you from the list. We'll provide clear instructions via email when you're placed on the waitlist, so you’ll have a chance to decide what works best for you. New members from the waitlist will be invited to join us no later than January 31st, 2026.
